Fabio Longano, U.S. Ambassador for La Spinetta and Certified Sommelier, joins us for the weekend's events to guide guests through wines originating from Piedmont and Tuscany. Among its many awards, La Spinetta is highly regarded for its approach to using older vines more closely tied with the land, which produce fewer grapes but more pronounced flavor profiles. La Spinetta practices sustainable and organic farming and is widely known for producing wines of character, longevity, and a strong sense of place.

Michael Romero of Synergy Fine Wines will also be in attendance, representing Santa Barbara, an historic winery located near the home of Chef Giovanni and wife, Kelly Lanzante, Vermejo assistant food and beverage manager, in Abruzzo, Italy. The couple is delighted to introduce a producer they have personally visited and hold close, which strives to improve the standard of its grapes year after year to reflect the essence of the clay and water-rich soils along the Adriatic Sea.
A Taste of Italy: Wine & Wood-Fired Pizza

The weekend begins beneath open skies with a pre-dinner aperitivo on the veranda, inviting relaxed conversation in the evening air. Sip and mingle with guests and wine partners over small plates of wood-fired pizza fresh from the oven, paired with a wine flight ideal for unhurried summer nights. Dinner follows in the lodge at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday evening, the focus turns to bold American flavors as Chef Giovanni and his culinary team present an elevated barbecue experience with chef-attended carving stations and thoughtfully paired wines. Designed to feel generous and communal, the evening celebrates the art of gathering around fire and table, offering ideas and inspiration for hosting your own summer gatherings with ease and intention.
