Murder Mystery Party

Is your group looking for a genuinely unique team-building event? Is your family the one that takes Family Game Night to the next level? Vermejo's Murder Mystery party is made for you! To truly transport our guests into the scene, the event is hosted in Casa Grande*, our turn-of-the-century manor on Vermejo’s historic, stately grounds—a perfect setting for a Gatsbyesque event.

An Evening of Mystery and Intrigue

The party atmosphere is replete with music, hors d’oeuvres, and drinks of the period, serving up an intoxicating mix of Roaring ’20s carousing and Hollywood Golden Era glamour.

Guests receive invitations in their accommodations, inviting them to join us for an evening of mystery, intrigue, and murder. The program can host up to 30 in-character players, plus more general party observers, or “onlookers.” Guests are encouraged to “dress the part” and are provided with character booklets to set the scene and move the game forward. Players will engage with the detective and interact with other partygoers and the evidence to uncover the motive and the "murderer."

This year, how about some intrigue, mystery, and yes—murder—for New Year’s? There’s nothing quite like celebrating New Year’s Eve in a 25,000-square-foot turn-of-the-century mansion, with live piano music, classic card games, and snooker or billiards, accompanied by champagne and an array of festive fare. On Sunday night, we’ll take a darker turn on this Gatsbyesque atmosphere and introduce a murder mystery, waiting to be solved by you and your friends and family.

Interspersed with the glitz and glamour of Casa Grande parties, spend your days soaking in the rejuvenating power of nature’s peaceful winter splendor. Holiday festivities are intertwined with time spent outdoors to create a perfect mix of fireside fun, seasonal flavors, and wilderness exploration. Stroll around Adam’s Lake and see skies filled with golden and bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, and other birds of prey. Or step back in time with tours of historic sites like the Koehler mining camp or Catskill’s charcoal kilns. Crisp, sunny days are perfect for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and sport shooting. If a frosty breeze brings snow and ice, then it’s time to bundle up for snowshoeing, ice fishing, and tubing down the hillsides. The best part?
